Our Favorites

Here’s what we’ve been loving in our homeschool so far (and I’ll keep updating as we discover new favorites!).

📚 Books & Learning Resources

8 Great Smarts for Homeschoolers
Interesting read on helping identify what areas your child flourishes in and supporting their learning based on this knowledge.

A Little Spot of Emotions Books
These books are very cute and help kids understand their emotions and learn tools to manage them.

How to Tie Your Shoes
For whatever reason it was not clicking when we showed my daughter how to tie her shoes. Practicing with this model shoe helped her a lot.

How Your Brain Learns to Read
Helps children make sense of what their brains are doing when trying to read. Follows the science of reading. We used the Logic of English curriculum and this book is written by the creator.

50 States Travel Journal
We have a big goal to get our daughter to the 50 states before college/trade school or whatever she decides. This journal is a great way to keep track of where she has been. We add pictures using the Sprocket printer (link in supplies and organization).

✏️ Supplies & Organization

Rolling Cart – Amazon
Absolutely love this cart! I learned very quickly my daughter was not going to do lessons at a desk every day.
This cart lets us stay organized and do learning anywhere.

Whiteboard/Dry Erase Markers
Sometimes it feels a little more fun to write on the dry erase boards. The markers that come with it are my favorite and it’s nice that one side is ruled.

Dry Erase Number Line
Helpful for counting, equations, odd and even numbers.

Mesh Zipper Bags
We use these to store a lot of our board games. They really help maximize space.

Learning Clock
We use this as a learning tool and move it to different areas of our home.

Sprocket Smart Phone Photo Printer
I love using this printer!! Our daughter is crafty, artsy and makes things daily. We cannot keep everything, so I decided to take pictures of her creations and put them in a journal dedicated to her artwork. This printer makes it super easy to keep up with it! I also use it to print pictures for her 50 states travel journal. Because I love to be organized, I also got this fun case to put it in and here is a link for extra photo paper.

Thermal Laminator
It’s crazy how much I love laminating things! I have used it to make number bond sheets, place value charts, learning schedules, flashcards, Game Boards, recipe cards and so on.

Eco Tank Printer
Printers can be such a hit-or-miss topic, but this one has been a win for us. We’ve had it for about a year and it’s been great. The ink lasts forever, and I love how easy it is to print straight from my phone.

🎲 Games & Activities

Learning Resources Veggie Farm Sorting
Cute way for little ones to learn about colors, matching and numbers. 3+

Outer Space Sticky Dart Board
Fun physical activity that helped get our daughter counting and learning the planets. 3+

ThinkFun Math Dice Junior
This is a great take anywhere game. Easy to learn and helps with mental math. 6+

Exact Change Game
A really helpful and easy way to teach about adding money. 5+

Money Bags Board Game
Great game to learn how to count coins. Quick and easy! 7+

Sleeping Queens Card Game
This game is sooo cute! It was created in 2003 by a 6 year old.
We have the original addition but it looks like the second has a few new characters and ways to play. 8+

Junior Detective
This is our daughter's favorite game! Anytime we say to pick out a board game, this is her first choice. 8+
