To familiarize yourself with the website's features, we recommend accessing it from a desktop during your first visits.
Register - Basic registration is FREE. You need to register in order to place a profile as your registered name is what identifies you in the system and allows us to find your profile for you to edit through the 'My Information' option. Enter your e-mail address carefully as your password is automatically sent to this address. If you make a mistake, you will not receive your password. Login - As a member, you may login either at the entry screen. Tip: If you forget your username or password then you can have it resent by clicking on the 'resend password' link under the login box. Enter the e-mail address you registered with and we will send you the details you require.
Profile 'About Me' - In this section, share a brief summary about yourself as a homeschool mom, including your homeschooling approach, interests, and what you're looking for in a match. This is a chance to add a personal touch to your profile, beyond the general questions you’ve already answered. Please remember to avoid including personal details such as full names or contact information.
Searching - You can do a quick search based on your country, state, or city of residence. Under advanced search you can filter based on several criteria including, preferred type of connection, homeschooling style, and years of experience homeschooling, among others.
If you wish to find a specific member, you may type their username directly into the 'Username' text box and click search.
Be a Mentor - Would you be interested in giving back to the homeschool community by mentoring other homeschool moms? This feature lets other moms know that they can reach out to you with any questions related to homeschool that they may have. If you have at least 3 years homeschooling experience, you can select “mentor” to be displayed on your profile. You can turn this off at any time. This role is intended as a resource rather than a commitment to a long-term friendship.
My Profile - This is how your profile will appear to other members.
My Info - This section lets you delete or edit your profile, get verified, change password, update email preferences.
My Matching Preferences - You can find this under the 'My Info' page, where you can modify your preferences to help the site personalize its matching recommendations for you.
My Photos - Here you can change your profile image to any of the stock images we have available.
Edit Profile - Here you can update your registration information and change answers to profile questions etc. Any 'free form' questions you change will require approval form the admin. Please allow 48hrs for review. Tip: Update your profile answers on an annual basis.
Messages - Check here to read messages another member has sent you and see any messages you have sent to other members. You will be emailed a notification when another member has sent you an email.
Hamburger Menu (left side) - You can view your friends, matches, favorites and friend requests here.
Report Button - If you need to report a member to the admin, click on this button on their profile page. It will send a notification to the Homeschool Moms Connect Team and we will reach out for further detail.
Block Button - Click this button on a member's profile you no longer wish to be in contact with. You will no longer be able to send or receive messages from this member.
Manage Block List - You can see all the people you've blocked here and unblock them if you'd like.
